11U Scorpions will practice for the first time this year, Saturday. Complete winter practice schedule to be announced early next week. The 14U Scorpions will start the Spring 2011 season after middle school baseball. Schedule will be posted before the end of this month. The 14U Scorpions had a great weekend winning all four games. The Championship game was especially exciting as the Scorps recovered from a 5 run deficit early in the game and tied the game in the 6th inning. The winning run was a homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning. The entire team contributed to this victory...the outfield made great catches and strong arms prevented runners from tagging-up and scoring. The infield played error free and turned double plays when most needed while the pitchers battled and kept their opponents off balance the entire game. The 11U Scorpions had to come from behind in a tough game to make the championship game. They lost to a team that is 8-0 in the championship game but took second place. Ranked #9 in USSSA Power Rankings the team continues to improve every tournament. The 14U Scorpions win 3 out of 4 this weekend and maintain the highest Power Ranking ever achieved by the team. Ranked #2 in the State and #13 in the National USSSA Power Rankings. The only team we lost to this weekend was a "AAA" team and we will have our chances to beat them in the near future. Our boys continue to improve and are coming together as a team. Thanks to all the players, parents and coaches for working together to help our kids become better baseball players. The 14U Scorpions were undefeated this weekend in their first USSSA tournament of the 2011 season. They played as a team and demonstrated their resilence by coming from behind to win. Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents for an excellent weekend! The 11U Scorpions added key players over the summer resulting in a great start to the 2011 season. As we all knew, this team is capable of beating any team they play and this weekend they put it all together to win a Championship at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, SC. Congratulations to all the players and to Coach Chad, Ledford and Fields for helping our kids improve. Looking forward to the next tournament. |
