The 10U Scorpions will be adding two to three new players this Fall.  Please contact Michael Causey (864-918-7928) or Tony Bishop  (864-979-8731) if you are interested in trying out.

Congratulations to Coach Chad, Ledford, Fields and our boys for going 2-2 in a field of top ranked AAA and AA teams.

They BEAT a top 3 AA team and a top 5 AAA team and could have very easily been 4-0.

I am sure we are all looking forward to the Upper State Championship Tourney June 18th.

The 13U Scorpions are pleased annouce that Coach Ledford and Coach Fields have joined the Scorpion coaching staff.   Ledford and Fields recenly coached JV baseball and are a welcomed addition to the Scorpions.

The 10U Scorps worked hard all through the off season and their efforts were rewarded with a first place USSSA finish at Lakeside Park in Greenville, SC.

Thanks to the Coach Wes and his staff (Michael, Tony and Shane) for working hard with all of our kids during the off season to prepare for this spring.

Our next tournament is in Union on March 20 & 21.

After many nerve racking weeks (for the parents) of try-outs the middle school and JV teams have been selected.  If you refer back to the front page of our web site you will read that this team was formed to help our kids prepare for middle school try-outs.   Scorpion parents have dedicated alot of time and effort to help thier kids advance and should be congratulated for thier committment.  I am sure each of us have a long list of coaches, parents, friends and trainers to thank for helping our kids get here...it has been a long process since most of our kids started playing baseball when they were five and six years old.

Our kids have become friends through the parents efforts to help them form a "team".  Not only have our kids become friends, the parents have as well since we all share a common goal.

Please keep in mind that several real good players that did not make their teams or did not try-out.  There are many variables involved, some of them out of our control...all you can do is try your hardest.

Congratulations to the following players: (in order of when the teams made announcements)

Brady Forrest......Southside Christian
Charley Bishop.....Southside Christian

Ryan Eudy..........Bryson
Josh Payne.........Bryson

Justin Wandasiewicz........Ralph Chandler

Ramel Brown.......Beck
Taylor Charles......Beck

The 13U Scorps have practiced the last three weekends at the Strike Zone.  The catchers participated in a "catchers" clininc which was of great benefit.   Many of the dads and catchers made comments on how good the training sessions were.  This weekend a batters clinic was conducted by Jeff at the Strike Zone in an effort to help our players get ready for Middle School tryouts.   The kids really seemed to enjoy themsleves and stayed in the automated batting cages for hours.

The 10U Scorps played their last tournament of the Fall season on November 17th in Lexington, SC.   This was their first tournament playing in a closed AAA division.

They wasted no time in preparing for the Spring season by conducting practices at the Strike Zone starting in early December and will continue throughout the winter. On December 12th the catchers will attend a "catching" clinic at the Strike Zone.   The kids stayed in the batting cages so long they went through a bucket of tokens.   The other benefit of working out at the Strike Zone is keeping our kids together through the Winter.

The newly formed 10U Scorpions have placed first or second in all three of the tournmanents they have entered.  The win this weekend
was especially gratifying since the kids had to endure the extreme cold weather.  Coach Wes told the team that he was especially proud of them because they did not rely on one aspect of the game to win.   Defense and offense were well balanced allowing the team to beat some great teams this weekend.

Congratulations to Coach Wes, Michael, Shane and Tony C for doing a great job of developing these boys.

Next tournament is scheduled for November 7th in Easley, SC.
